IKEA Centres Russia Launches First Retail Start-Up Accelerator in Russia


MEGA ACCELERATOR aims at searching and realising innovative ideas on enhancing customer experience in MEGA shopping malls and beyond.

MEGA ACCELERATOR is the first of the kind project in the Russian retail market. It calls for developers, programmers, business experts, retail specialists, designers and marketers to participate.

The application process opens on December 7 on mega-accelerator.com. Registration closes in January 2016 followed by the teams evaluation and selection for the next stage.

In March 2016, selected teams will be invited to the business incubator to test and develop their ideas supported by project mentors. The winner will be announced in June 2016.

IKEA Centres Russia will provide creative office space and necessary resources for MEGA ACCELERATOR participants to develop their ideas. Teams selected for the accelerator will get RUB 350 000 each, and the winner will get RUB 3 500 000 to realise the idea for MEGA shopping centers.

MEGA ACCELERATOR is arranged with support GVA LaunchGurus, a leading startup and entrepreneurship expert. GVA LaunchGurus’ ecosystem brings together start-up accelerator, education courses for emergent entrepreneurs and venture capitalists, as well as a seed fund.
